Food Waste Collection - Helensburgh - 17.09.2024
Due to a vehicle breakdown we've been unable to collect the food waste caddies today in Helensburgh & Lomond, please leave your caddy out for collection and we will endeavour to collect them this week. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Limited Access Recycling - Helensburgh & Lomond - 17.09,2024
Due to operational issues we're currently one day behind on our scheduled pickup of the domestic recycling on the Limited Access Route within Helensburgh. If your bin has been missed, please leave it out for collection and we'll endeavour to collect it later this week. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Mull - Recycling - 17.09.2024
Due to a vehicle breakdown on Tuesday 17th September, Fionnphort – Iona Recycling route/catchup has been moved back to Friday 20th September. Please keep your bins in until then and all excess will be collected. We apologise for any inconvenience
Temporary Closure of Roading Household Waste and Recycling Centre, Campbeltown
Due to planned essential resurfacing works by site operator Renewi, The Roading Household Waste and Recycling Centre, Campbeltown, will be closed to the public from Tuesday 17th - Thursday 19th September and will re-open on Friday 20th September
EV Charging Network - Faults - 02.09.2024
Electric Vehicle Charger Faults:
We have some faults across our network of 37 EV chargers at the moment. We are working with our maintenance contractors to have these repaired as soon as possible.
The faults and some details are listed below. You can see the full range of publicly available chargers in Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æ and Bute (not just those operated by the Council) on the .
- 53517 Tiree Ferry Terminal – an engineer is due onsite mid Sept to repair this fault, please note this date is subject to change if there are ferry disruptions. Unfortunately, there are no other Council chargers at this site, but all public chargers can be found via the Charge Place Scotland website using the link above.
- 51143 The Columba Centre, Fionnphort, Mull – an engineer is due onsite week beginning 9/9/24 to repair this fault. Unfortunately, there are no other Council chargers at this site, but all public chargers can be found via the Charge Place Scotland website using the link above.
- 60104 Ledaig Car Park, Mull – an engineer is due onsite week beginning 9/9/24 to repair this fault. Unfortunately, there are no other Council chargers at this site but all public chargers can be found via the Charge Place Scotland website using the link above.
- 61622 Corran Halls Public Car Park – the engineer has ordered parts and will be scheduled to attend once they are received. There is an another EVC available at this site.
- 61720 Coal Pier Dunoon – an engineer has been scheduled to attend 2/09/24. There is an another EVC available at this site.
A819 Electric Cottage - April 2024
Following previous works being halted due to severe weather damage to our roads and bridges infrastructure, October 2023 we were later able to re-start works on the A819 Electric Cottage. This is essential works to improve our road network.
Works recommenced on Monday 13 November 2023 at Electric Cottage under the control of traffic lights. PH 3 of the works dealt with the southern section of the scheme , excavating rock faces and filling embankments to re-align and widen the carriageway, along with associated improvements in roadside drainage and culverts.
Work continues under traffic light control at Electric Cottage to Inveraray - April 2024 - to complete re-alignment and widening of southern section to form a temporary running surface, under 2-way traffic .
Phase 4 widening scheduled to follow-on May - August 2024 to complete the widening and re-alignment of the section northwards, including the extension or replacement of culverts under the carriageway. Temporary traffic control by traffic lights, will be in place past the works.
