A peer-led support project across five secondary schools in Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æ and Bute is helping to remove the stigma around period products and ensure everyone can access products in school, in their community and online.
Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æ and Bute Council has developed the My Tribe Champions programme, providing training to five pilot secondary schools on how to access products and information. The aim is for the champions to tackle stigma and improve access to period products amongst young people.
In Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æ and Bute free period products are available in schools, through the council’s My Tribe initiative in over 150 community locations, and online at
My Tribe, funded by the Scottish Government, aims to help raise awareness of the availability of free products in Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æ and Bute and break down barriers around talking about periods.
