The Committee gave consideration to reports from Stuart McCracken, Amenity Performance Manager.

Discussion continued and Stuart McCracken highlighted the remedial work necessary to remove the 2 dangerous trees near the West Highland line and the possible cost implications. He pointed out that it would perhaps necessitate a tender being compiled by the Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æ and Bute Procurement section to ensure this work was carried out in a timely manner.

Decision:

The Committee agreed:-

1.    To note the reports.

2.    That an updated financial report come to the Duchess Wood Committee meeting in August.

3.    That this Agenda item would be headed ‘ Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æ and Bute Council Maintenance update’ for future Duchess Wood meetings.

The Chair advised that apologies had been received from Stuart McCracken and outlined recent work which had been undertaken by the Amenity Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æ Team in the Duchess Wood.

This included:-

JapaneseÌý Knotweed had been sprayed again since the last meetingÌý

Hire of a cherry picker for the removal of branches at the Garage location at Duchess Wood had been programmed. 

The branches to be pruned back from above the asbestos roofs of the garages and lowered to ground level on site. 

It had been confirmed that the afore-mentioned work wouldÌý be carried out in the next 4  weeks.

The Committee agreed to note the update.
